So we've had three tap classes now and it's been great getting to know new people. We've got three Jennys(!) - but so far it's been ladies only. I'd really like to see some gentlemen in the class. There's a long tradition of male tap dancers. No-one compares to Fred Astaire in my opinion. He make his dancing look effortless (of course it's not) and watching him always makes me want to dance. So come along gents, brush off your shoes and join in - you can even come for the coffee and gossip afterwards....
Well, we had our first class today (16 July) and I enjoyed it a lot - I hope all the tappers did too! We had 10 people, so it was not too crowded. That means there's room for more, so now's the time to join in. You can start your 10 consecutive lessons at any time, or just Pay as You Go.
We're learning a dance too. We did the first two sections this morning, but will keep going over it and build it up week by week Several of us went for coffee at Mrs Piper's in The Thoroughfare too and had a good chat, putting the world to rights. So all in all, a 1st class first class! Jill |
